DALO launches framework for fire and rescue vehicle procurement

Danish defence acquisition body tenders up to 22 all-terrain platforms with training and support options for delivery from 2026

Denmark has launched a tender for two fire and rescue vehicles, with an option for up to 20 additional vehicles.

The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation, DALO, requires the vehicles for fire and rescue operations.

According to the tender documents, the vehicles are to be donated to Moldova in the period 2026–2036.

The first two vehicles are to be delivered in 2026.

The vehicles must be robust and all-terrain (standard 1846-2) and capable of operating as first-response units. They must therefore be rapidly deployable, according to the tender specifications, according to the documents.

In addition, spare parts packages, extrication tools, rescue equipment and training may be ordered as options.

Beyond the two vehicles to be delivered in 2026, up to a further 20 vehicles may be ordered during the period 2026–2036.

The customors are the Danish Armed Forces and the Danish Emergency Management Agency, DEMA.

The Danish support of 3.5 million euro for crisis mnanagement includes yearly donations of fire and rescue vehicles and equipment, as well as training for first responders.

As part of the project, Moldova will also receive 220 complete sets of firefighter turnout gear and 150 self-contained breathing apparatuses, including extra air cylinders.
